  • Special category data: Processing of health data is necessary for the provision of healthcare

5. Confidentiality
Your privacy and confidentiality are fundamental to our therapeutic relationship. I will not share your information with anyone without your permission, except in these specific circumstances:

  • If I believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or others
  • If I am required to do so by law or court order
  • For the purposes of clinical supervision (all identifying details are removed)

6. Clinical Supervision
As required by BACP and BPS guidelines, I receive regular clinical supervision. In supervision, I may discuss aspects of our work together, but I will not disclose any information that could identify you.

7. Record Keeping
I keep brief, factual notes of our sessions for clinical purposes. These records are:

  • Stored securely and confidentially
  • Kept separately from any identifying information
  • Retained for 7 years after our work ends, as required by professional guidelines
  • Then securely destroyed

8. Data Security
I take appropriate measures to protect your information:

  • All electronic records are password protected and encrypted
  • Communication via email is not fully secure; I use encrypted platforms where possible
  • Devices used for client work are secured with passwords and encryption

9. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal requirements)
  • Restrict or object to processing of your data
  • Request transfer of your data to another provider
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

10. Sharing Information with Third Parties
I will not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Limited information may be shared with:

  • My clinical supervisor (anonymised)
  • Relevant authorities if required by law or to prevent serious harm

11. Fees, Payments and Cancellation Policy
Payment Terms:

  • All services are self-funded; I do not accept NHS referrals or private insurance
  • Payment is required at the end of each session
  • I accept bank transfers and trusted online payment partners

Cancellation Policy:

  • 48-24 hours notice: 50% of session fee payable
  • Less than 24 hours notice or missed session: Full session fee payable
  • Repeated missed appointments: May result in discharge from the service as this may indicate the timing or format is not the right fit

12. Online Therapy
For remote sessions, I use secure, encrypted platforms. While I take all reasonable precautions, no online communication can be guaranteed 100% secure. We will discuss and agree on the platform to use for our sessions.

13. Website Privacy
My website (jaclynbennett.co.uk) may collect limited technical information through cookies for functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

14. Children’s Privacy
I do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 without parental consent.

15. Changes to This Policy
I may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on my website.
